|Recommended: YesBest in college apartments, but overpriced. — Cottage landing is the best place to live compared to the other places that usually house college students in Lafayette. The layout of the houses and apartments are nice, but the one thing that bothers me is why the breaker box was put in the middle of the living room and not in a closet it is suppose to be. If anyone plans on living near the pool area at all they might as well have 911 on speed dial because of the amount of time they are going to being making noise complaints. There were numerous times I had to call 911 because of loud obnoxious people swimming at 2 or 3 in the morning. The biggest pitfall of cottage landing is the electricity bill. It makes no sense to me whatsoever how we turned all the electricity off for a whole week while we were in Colorado and had a electricity bill for 270. That is absurd. There is something wrong because I never had to pay anywhere close to the overage amount in my first year compared to the last year. When I first signed my lease it was for 600 a month. When I renewed my lease I was not told that my rent went up 30 until I had to pay rent. I should have been grandfathered in to the old amount instead of the new price. Unless you have your parents paying for your rent and they aren't price sensitive then this is not the place for you.

The administration is very good Very polite and helpful, though they keep on adding fees that are not always due... I had to complain several times
The maintenance is far from perfect they did fix and flood issue very quick but my room has been freezing 65F whole winter.
All in all, I would have stayed if I did not have to go back home.
